Sleeved Kagmar Gauntlet

I made this asset in 3DS Max for the Fitchburg State University Game Design Capstone. This model will be the focus of the first-person camera, so I attempted some unfamiliar techniques when it came to both the 3D modeling of the gauntlet and the 2D texturing of the gauntlet.

The materials I went for: Brass for the bulb housing, Darkened Rubber for the valve seals, a Proto-steel material for the valve bridge and Intake port, and a Tungsten material for the filament and array inside the bulb. I used a Leather material for a majority of the gauntlet with some Proto-steel accents, and Red Leather for the bulb housing.

My main goal was to keep poly count down on the model, to keep it simpler for the animator to work with. I didn't want the gauntlet itself to be too busy and distract away from the moving parts inside the bulb, another focus of mine was the position of the bulbs and keeping them on screen during the animations.
